Where’s Number Nine?
Good Afternoon, All:
You might be asking yourself the same question: Where’s Number Nine? Well, hopefully I have an easy answer here. In short, it’s been three months since our last issue, and I have not had a single new article submission. I only have a few adventures left in the slush pile, and those will probably be going into this next issue. As I’ve said before, Stellar Reaches will only last as long as I get submissions. Without your support, there is no fanzine. I will wait one more month, and then publish what I’ve got. If there are no further submissions, then it saddens me to say that it is likely that the next issue of Stellar Reaches will also be its last.
In other news, we will also be releasing a big Stellar Reaches Special Supplement PDF focused on the Empty Quarter sector. This extremely large sector supplement is the work of Alvin Plummer, who has done a lot to help create the depth and breadth of the Empty Quarter sector background with his adventures and articles in previous submissions to the fanzine. I’m sure that once you see the supplement, you, too, will be as impressed as I am with his work.
I’ll let you guys know more on both developments (the future of Stellar Reaches as well as the Empty Quarter Special Supplement) as things progress. Remember, we are definitely looking for submissions to the fanzine, so if you have something you’d like to contribute, by all means, feel free to submit them to me by mid-May.

Flynn, will you be accepting articles regarding Mongoose Traveller (when published)? Things like Errata, alternate character tables etc.
I would expect that your Fanzine could be a good outlet for FREE stuff related to MGT.

I’d love to accept articles regarding Mongoose Traveller. The problem is that I haven’t been getting any submissions lately (correction: I’ve gotten one submission), and I’m a little saddened by the lack of support for the fanzine. However, it could be that talented folks may be saving their work to release under the OGL once MGT goes live. Only time will tell.
If there are submissions, Stellar Reaches will continue. That’s my side of the commitment with the Traveller community.

Hi Flynn, I thought after reading previous posts that you were snowed under with work and that future issues of SR would be released as and when you could fit them in. I have been deliberately waiting for you to ask for submissions to begin writing the next part of my feature adventure, The Lorimar Slot, I can begin this immediately though have not done so because I’ve been flat out working. Let me know and I’ll squeeze in the time. Cheers

Well, Flynn, the good news is I’ve got at least part of *that* manuscript. Come to the forum and we can start thrashing it out.

I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear enough in the past, but I’m always taking submissions. That’s how I know I have enough to create a new issue, or when there’s no interest in continuing with the fanzine. When people aren’t submitting articles and the like, I have nothing to work with, and so I cannot build a new issue unless I write it all. Sadly, with Real Life ™ and All, I cannot write it all, which is why I have to resort to a sporadic publication period. I have always depended on the kind generosity of submitters, but perhaps you aren’t the only one that somehow has that impression.
Yes, please, send me the next episode of the Lorimar Slot.
I would love to see it in the next issue.
If anyone is reading this and has been waiting for requests for submissions, now is the time. Please feel free to send them in.

I didn’t realise you were low on submissions, if you need any artwork, help yourself to anything off my website. Or if you are looking for anything specific let me know.
I would also post a request on CotI for submissions if I were you, we all want Stellar Reaches to continue, its too good to lose.
