I recently purchased the Mongoose: Solomani book, and they have the most terrifying Traveller cover I have ever seen.
Contrast this with the MegaTraveller: Rebellion Sourcebook. It just reeks of pure 80s awesome. “Published 1988″
It is good that Traveller has room for both styles. Keeps me on my toes.

I always wondered about the Earth that would produce the Traveller universe. The GDW Traveller Earth is described here. Terra, 76 years from the discovery of Jump Drive. An interesting world, with the Reagan 70s, corporate paternalism everywhere, and a messy resolution of the North Korean problem.
